Dear friends of Suvarnaprabha,
Suvarnaprabha died at home, with her sisters, Julie, and Padmatara right by her. She was conscious right up through yesterday.  Our hearts go out to all those who are grieving.
The Center is commencing a 24 hour program of collective practice to support Suvarnaprabha and her community of friends and family in this transition.
TOMORROW, Sep. 25, starting at 6:30 in the morning we will begin an hourly cycle of practice that will end with our sangha night class that runs 7:00-9:00pm
You can arrive at the beginning of each hour of practice, in the morning 6:30am, 7:30, 8:30 , and so on through the day up to beginning at 5:30pm. We'll end with sangha night together from 7-9:00pm and a final transference of merits.
We will practice straight through the day and imagine people joining us in places near and far.
As there is more news of memorial arrangements we will let you know. Suvarnaprabha has been and is now, beyond description.
With love,
Padmatara and Viveka

  1. Thank you for letting us know. Much love to your whole sangha at this time, and always of course. And to her beautiful and indomitable sisters.

  2. I am so glad that Suvarnaprabha was able to die at home surrounded by so much love and that her death was peaceful (at least that is how it sounds). Much love to you all and many thanks to Padmatara and the four sisters for being the stalwarts that they are. My thoughts are with you all and Suvarnaprabha's father. xxx

  3. I was not surprised to get this news of course, and yet having seen her so vital earlier this year its hard to believe that she is actually gone from us. If anyone was going to outlive her cancer, surely it would have been Suvarna. Not having witnessed her decline at close quarters I can so easily hear her that hearty laugh and that almost sly or was it a shy smile that began with the eyes and radiated the kindness that recognized one as fellow traveler on this earth. My love and thanks goes out to all who accompanied her so faithfully on this cancer journey, her biological and Sangha sisters and brothers.I hope to be able to greet you when we get together to honor the life well lived of our dear friend Suvarnaprabha.
